Empowering Our Communities Through Skills, Manufacturing, and Local Ownership
At Baso Healthcare, we are more than a home care and nurse-led agency—we are a movement. Through our new Skills Development and Manufacturing Program, we aim to help communities build themselves up by offering practical skills training and sustainable business models.
We recognize that economic challenges are affecting millions of South Africans, and the youth in particular are vulnerable due to lack of opportunities. With this in mind, Baso Healthcare, in partnership with local municipalities, brings a bold solution: a community-owned toilet paper manufacturing initiative, supported by local service providers in security, cleaning, and transport.
This project is not charity. It’s about ownership, empowerment, and long-term change.
Our Motivation & Approach
We believe that:
Many people have been disappointed by empty promises and unsupported programs. We understand the frustration. That’s why Baso Healthcare is committed to action, not just ideas.
We have driven through many areas, identified key issues, and believe the first problem to solve is a lack of meaningful opportunity.
Main Project: Toilet Paper Manufacturing
Toilet paper is a basic need in every home. But what if we turned it into a business opportunity? With the right support, this everyday product becomes a powerful tool for economic development.
The model includes:
This project provides not just jobs—but real skills, confidence, and future possibilities.
The program is designed to create a ripple effect of economic growth by involving local service providers:
Security Services
To ensure the safety and success of the manufacturing sites, local security companies will be contracted—keeping the opportunity within the community.
Cleaning & Hygiene
We will hire local cleaning teams to maintain high cleanliness standards and safe work environments.
Transport & Logistics
Transportation is key—both for raw materials and finished products. We’ll partner with local transport operators to handle this critical function.
Not all youth are academically inclined. Many excel in skills-based programs when given a chance. Baso Healthcare believes that skills—not just matric certificates—can open doors.
Our experience proves it:
This isn’t just Baso Healthcare’s idea—it belongs to the community. The project is designed so that:
When the community owns an idea, they protect it, build it, and help it thrive. This model builds dignity, responsibility, and pride.
With the right support:
We’ve studied previous models like those from Ithala that unfortunately collapsed due to lack of interest, poor leadership, and limited stakeholder support.
We’ve learned that:
We bring:
Our vision is to:
We don’t want to be a market for others—we want to own the ideas and drive the change. This is our community’s opportunity. With your partnership, we will succeed again.
Let’s work together to make something big from something small. Let’s empower ourselves with our own hands. Let’s build a better future for our generation.
